Precious Space – Open your Hips, Open your Mind
January 29 @ 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm375DKK
Yoga workshop to open your hips and mind
Start the new year feeling spacious – in your body and mind.
Openness, yoga says, is the true nature of things. Yet, as humans we may experience that our body and our mind feel tight. Yoga is a practice that helps us reconstruct a sense of space, that is openness and freedom, in our body and our mind.
This workshop will take you into a 3-hour journey to feel open and spacious in your body, by working particularly on building space in the hip and pelvis region. In addition to asana practice and techniques, we will use this new openness in our body to dive deeper into an experience of space in our mind, with various explorative and deepening meditations.
What to expect?
This 3-hour workshop is an opportunity to start the year afresh and open in your body and mind.
On the body level
When we create an experience of spaciousness in the hip area, we feel more freedom not only around the pelvis and lower back but also in the rest of our body, down from our knees and up to our shoulders. You can expect to learn and review alignment techniques and therapeutics for the hip and lower-back area, which you will be able to take with you, in your yoga practice and in your daily life. If you are dealing with an old injury or discomfort in this area, you are welcome too. Possibility for individual feedback and hands-on.
On the mind level
In yoga, the body and the mind work together. An open mind is not a quality that some people have and others do not, but rather it is a “skill” one can build and cultivate. Physical yoga helps prepare our body to sit quietly and more comfortably. Using our asana practice, you can expect to be guided into several meditation practices, based on ancient yogic traditions and more modern mindfulness, to invite a sense of space and freedom also in your mind. We will also work on building a comfortable sitting posture that is supportive of a deeper, focused meditation.
Everyone is welcome, new beginners and advanced practitioners alike.
This workshop takes place at Pakhus Yoga, Islands Brygge (Njalsgade 19C), on Saturday 29th of January 2022, from 14.30 to 17.30.
Price: 375 kr. Register at pakhusyoga.dk/events.
Your guide, Cédric
I am passionate about the connection between the body, the heart and the mind, and I always teach yoga and meditation connecting these three together. Allying my physical body with my emotional, mental, and spiritual selves is something I work with every day, both with clients and students and on my own personal growth journey.
I have studied and practiced alignment-based and heart-centered yoga for over 12 years. Beyond yoga, meditation, and eastern philosophy, I have studied and practiced somatic and mindfulness-based psychotherapy along with anatomy, body therapy, and various healing modalities. My intention is to share the world of yoga as a path of inner transformation and empowerment of our work in the world.
