Bring more stability and balance in your yoga practice… and in your life
Often times, a public yoga class goes too quickly to decompose challenging poses and go in depth into what creates stability and power in our practice.
This 3-hour workshop is for you who find standing balancing poses challenging and are eager to build more strength and stability in your practice. We will take time to explore and review alignment techniques in the lower part of the body (feet, knee, legs, pelvis) that help you hold poses longer with more ease and stability, so you can experience a more “grounding” practice.
In the second part of the workshop, we will take the benefits of our alignment techniques into a meditative space, where you will be guided into meditations that will leave you feeling grounded and balanced both in your body and in your mind.
Whether you are looking for some help to rebuild your practice or a way to establish a stable and powerful practice, this workshop is for you.
New beginners and experienced practitioners are very welcome to this workshop. This event can also be of interest to you who is recovering from a ankle, knee or hip/lower back injury and want to learn creative ways to practice yoga. Most importantly, you are willing to learn, explore and be with yourself!
This 3-hour workshop is an opportunity to establish a strong sense of “earth,” grounding and solidity in your body and mind.
On the body level
Earth is the true nature of all physical things. Working with Earth at the body level is not just about allowing gravity and so-called “grounding” but also about stepping into our physical strength and power. Alignment in yoga brings us back to our optimal blue-print, where the muscles and joints work more efficiently together, can heal and build strength more effectively. This in turn increases our vitality and diminishes our stress level.
You can expect to learn or review techniques targeted at strengthening your muscles and joints, primarily around the feet/knees/legs/pelvis area. You will hopefully be able to take the techniques home with you and into your regular practice. You are also welcome if you are recovering from an injury in those areas. Possibility for individual feedback and hands-on.
On the mind level
In yoga, the body and the mind work together. “Grounding” is not a given quality but rather a capacity one can build and cultivate. Physical yoga helps prepare our body to sit quietly and more comfortably. After our asana, you will be guided into meditation practices coming from ancient yogic traditions and use our proprioception (i.e. inner experience) of alignment to bring stability and balance in your mind and nervous system.
Everyone is welcome, new beginners and advanced practitioners alike.

Your guide, Cédric
In his yoga and meditation classes, Cédric’s intention is to help you find (or find again) a good and healthy posture, build strength and flexibility in your body, along with help you slow down and soothe your nervous system in a deep way. His work with clients and students is informed by more than a decade of practice, teaching and studies in yoga techniques, anatomy, conscious movement, eastern philosophy, meditation, and body-based psychotherapy. Cédric has an earlier career as a social science researcher, which can be felt in his natural curiosity and capacity to bring a larger perspective to every class and session he offers.
