Get ready to step into the new year with this 3-hour workshop and uplift your mood, stamina, and energy level.
We are naturally affected by the seasonal changes, and yoga helps us both align with the natural cycles and balance ourselves so we can navigate through them with ease and aliveness.
Hand and arm balances, from simple to complex, are a powerful part of our asana practice as they build strength and confidence. They also have a positive and enhancing mental effect, as they potentially can take us beyond what we thought we could do – and simply bring our playful self to the forefront. And they are also very fun!
In this workshop, we will re-explore and learn alignment and other techniques to move into different arm and hand balances in a safe and deeper way. Such poses are not simply a matter of having strong arms; they actually involve a fascinating complexity and combination of different parts of the body, working together literally to “uplift” ourselves. It is not about pushing through our edges, but rather explore them so can grow and experience the deep nourishment that this practice can bring.
This workshop will also include a few meditation/mindfulness techniques designed and known to uplift our mood and energy.
It does not matter how “strong” or experienced you think you are, the only requirement is your willingness to meet yourself and have fun!
