Experience the power of yoga beyond asana: 4-class series to dive into meditation, mindfulness, and ancient wisdom for a calmer mind and more awake life in central Copenhagen.
Thousands of years ago, ancient sages started to teach yoga as a method to see beyond the limitations of the mind and live from a calmer, freer and more awake place. These teachings include meditation practices, philosophy principles, and self-study guides that all have the common purpose to expand our field of awareness and experience the deeper meaning behind life.
This series of four, 2-hour weekly sessions, is an invitation to dive into and experience the ancient teachings of yoga and mindfulness at all levels: mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual levels.
Slowly building from week to week, we will explore several types of meditation practice based on yoga philosophy (drawing from ancient scriptures such as the Yoga Sutras, nondual Shiva Tantra, and Buddhism) and engage into the self-study and the wisdom that these old texts invite us to do. In addition to the ancient teachings of yoga, we will also explore mindfulness techniques (from Vipassana) to establish a calmer mind in both our practice and everyday lives.
With max 12 participants, you can expect an inclusive and safe space to experience, reflect, and discuss how to integrate these ancient teachings into a regular practice and your daily lives.
As a result of the series, and in-between sessions, you will learn new tools and techniques for your practice as well as a general increase in awareness and understanding of yourself, your own definition of spirituality, and its applications in your everyday life. Homework will be suggested (but not required) in-between sessions to help you enrich an already existing practice or start one.
Please not that this group is NOT a therapy group or a typical yoga workshop. Rather, this series is intended as an immersion into meditation and the more holistic world of yoga, beyond the purely physical aspect, and an opportunity to deepen your practice and get to know yourself better. We will not focus on asana per se, but as a participant you are welcome to arrive a little earlier and do some self-practice to warm up the body.
This series is for you who are curious to know more about the science and wisdom behind yoga and meditation along with personal development seen from a yogic perspective. You are also willing to be part of a supportive group of like-minded yogis. A regular yoga practice for at least a few weeks (or other sorts of movement or mindfulness practice) is very helpful, but not necessary.
The most important pre-requisite is that you are interested in getting to know yourself better and expanding your perception and experience of the world.
This series is also well-suited for yoga teachers eager to refresh their practice or get new inspiration to share with their students.
In addition to comfortable clothes, you will need a journal or notebook, and whatever else makes you feel at ease.
The class will take place at the Yoga Flat (Christianshavn) four consecutive Sundays in March 2023 (the 3th, 12th, 19th, and 26th) from 14 to 16 (2-4 pm).
On the day after each session, you will get a summary by email and an audio recording.
For the sake of the group’s coherence and your own experience, although each session will be recorded, your participation in all four sessions is strongly recommended.
Price: 1250 kr. per person. The number of spots is limited to 12.
Your guide, Cédric, E-RYT and PhD
Copenhagen-based yoga and meditation teacher, I am passionate about the interconnection between the physical, the emotional, the mental, and the spiritual dimension that we all have. This body-heart-mind-soul connection is at the heart of both how I teach and how I live my life every day: whether with my clients and students or on my personal journey.
I have studied and practiced alignment-based yoga, meditation, and eastern philosophy for over 12 years. I also have studied and practiced somatic and mindfulness-based psychotherapy along with diverse forms of movement, healing, and body therapy modalities. My intention is to share the world of yoga as a path of inner transformation, empowerment, and awakening.
